We use things everyday that we don't fully understand, so full understanding isn't required before enjoying the benefits of the Holy Spirit.
When we cross our arms and refuse to believe until we understand, we make our knowledge and understanding an idol.
Understanding what something DOES is often more important than understanding how something WORKS.
John's baptism pointed to someone greater (Jesus vs. John) who would baptize people with something greater (fire vs. water).
The Holy Spirit is a gift given by a good Father. This allows us to receive the gift with thankful hearts.
The Holy Spirit is given for future needs more than present needs (Acts 1:8). This allows us to receive the gift with trusting hearts.
The Holy Spirit isn't given so we can do weird stuff in church, but so we can do warfare outside the church.
The task we have been called to is IMPOSSIBLE without the power of the Holy Spirit.
The best way to point people to Jesus is to be full of the Spirit who points people to Jesus.
The question for believers is never "Do you have the Holy Spirit?" but rather "Does the Holy Spirit have you?"
When tempted to stay satisfied, we answer the offer of more with "Yes, please!" In the Holy Spirit, there is more and that is enough.
